REBA: Road Education & Bikeways Advocacy

Note from new VP of REBA (Roads, Education & Bicycling Advocacy)

I became an avid cyclist during my final year of my undergraduate degree at McMaster University. I used my bicycle everywhere I could and even went on trail rides for a few weekends. This passion for cycling has encouraged me to focus my interests on active transportation through my enrollment of the Master of Resource and Environmental Management (MREM) programme at Dalhousie University. This programme has allowed me to complete assignments on the benefits of greenways and the use of data in active transportation jobs. Additionally, I attend Transportation Issue Committee (TIC) meetings with the Ecology Action Centre to learn about events that can enhance and advocate for improved cycling infrastructure.

I look forward to bringing my experience and passion to the BNS board as the new VP of Road Education and Bikeways advocacy and to working with you over the next two years to build a more bike-friendly Nova Scotia.

Sincerely, Madeline Lawler
