Commissars:

Bottom line is too few commissars with too much work; there is a need for an education program to recruit new blood from the clubs.  A strategy to get more recreational members of the various clubs involved was suggested and will be looked into.    Also it was suggested that a modest pay hike for commissars if feasible may help.

Club members were strongly encouraged to discuss the potential commissaire crisis with their constituents and bring solid, workable strategies to the next Road Committee meeting

Events co-coordinator:

Race dates for both road and Mountain are trickling in, a few dates were confirmed but as a whole the schedule is far from set with many dates available for events.  Super week and it virtues was discussed, concerns of poor attendance seemed to outweigh potential upside of current super week format.  To be discussed next meeting

Timing / Finish system

The new current system of high speed camera and computer was deemed to be the best/most cost effective decision for BNS and will be used in the upcoming season

Points Series:

Is this a race point series or participation based points series?  Should all races count or just a percentage of the races ?  These views should be discussed within the various clubs and then brought back for a vote.  What do the riders / clubs  want?   To be voted upon via Club Presidents webvote and finalized at Road Committee meeting.

Race Category upgrades

A motion was put forward that would allow more flexibility for riders within  the various categories to allow them to race at a higher level and see if they are competitive at that level; if not a mechanism would be in place which allows the riders to drop back to their original categories. To be voted upon via Club Presidents webvote and finalized at Road Committee meeting.

TT series with the TNS framework.

There is interest in this concept; some research has to be done on various issues such as insurance, number of officials required, and viability of using the TT courses without interfering with the actual triathlon race.  There is an opportunity here to put on a TT series with minimal effort.    As a second issue this could be seen as an opportunity to draw more cyclists into road racing for the large pool of riders currently racing only triathlons.

Provincials TBD no requests yet: Race organizers will be contacted and a Provincials race will be finalized at the next Road Committee meeting

Atlantics in NFLD but will be rotated around the 4 provinces yearly

Next meeting TBD tentatively set for late February
