2.      XC – Victoria Course is in good shape

a.       Hub is toying with some course changes including a possible start line location change.

                                                             ii.      Spoke NS (via e-mail)

1.      Race organization is progressing well. Spoke volunteers will be shadowing at a few early races to prepare for their race.

2. Technical Assistance Rule

a.       The initial reaction from the group was negative. They did not feel that is was necessary.

b.      Our understanding is that last year this rule was tested at select CCA sanctioned races. This year it does appear in the CCA rulebook.

c.       Therefore the group has decided that we should likely allow technical assistance at our 2006 races.

d.      Ryan Boudreau (MTB Chief Commissaire) will publish a bulletin on the website defining the rules of a technical assistance zone.

                                                               i.      If you leave spare parts in this zone they will be at your own risk

ii.      Technical assistance from others is only allowed in that zone

3.Downhill Categories

a.       All present were in favour of the “hardtail” category being added to the BNS official categories for MTB. There will be a points series for this category in the 2006 season.

4.Rule Clarifications for Points Series

a.       Although “one event members” may collect points throughout the season they will not be allowed receive a placing at the end of the season unless they are BNS members at that time. They must purchase a “Racing” membership before the last race in order to receive a points series award.

b.      Only BNS members can receive placing and awards in the points series. NB, PEI, etc. may collect points but will not be able to receive a placing award.

c.       Number of races required to place

                                                               i.      The 2006 XC points series will be a best 4 out of 6 series. One must collect points from at least 3 races in a category in order to receive an award for that category

ii.      The 2006 DH points series will be a best 3 out of 4 series. One must collect points from at least 2 races in a category in order to receive an award in that category

d.      Without a letter from BNS a racer may only place in the category for which they are licensed. A racer may not receive an award in more than one category.

5. Awards Banquet

a.       A brief discussion was had about last years awards banquet. The group believed that we should make an effort to make this years banquet more fun.

b.      They also pointed out that many members were not aware of the awards banquet until after it had taken place.

c.       It is early to be discussing the banquet. We will return to this topic this later in the year.

6. The Next Meeting will not be scheduled at this time. We will schedule a meeting when the need presents itself.
