MacBurnie funded for 2004 Road Nationals in Kamloops, BC

Dustin MacBurnie (Hub Cycle) of Truro, NS has successfully met the selection criteria for funding to the 2004 Canadian National Road Championships in Kamloops, BC over the June 26/27 weekend. Dustin will race in the Espoir U23 category, hoping to earn a spot on the National Team to race at the Road World Championships this fall.

Dustin placed 1st in the Open Male Category at the 2004 NS Provincial Championships in Yarmouth, NS on June 6th, 2004. As an under 23 rider, Dustin receives $500 towards his trip out west for Nationals from Bicycle Nova Scotia.

As an under 23 male athlete riding with a composite Atlantic/Espoirs de Laval team, Dustin was also awarded $250 to attend Grand Prix de Beauce, the largest UCI stage road race in North America. This race on June 22-28, 2004 is a great chance for him to compete against the best on the continent and pro cyclist from overseas.

Funding Allocation

To provide a clear and fair process of allocating Bicycle Nova Scotia's limited financial support, this section of the website will show a clear link between the athlete development documents for funding and the amount of funding at to whom it was awarded. This will clearly link selection criteria to funding and will allow the members to evaluate the sucess of the Athlete Development funding more easily each year and focus on improving it for coming seasons by this method.
